Services

These are the kinds of work Devon Computer does for organisations. A household should start with home and personal. Everything here is scoped. Nothing on this page is a package, and nothing has a price attached.

Choosing where to start

You do not need a technical brief. A plain account of what is getting in the way is enough.

  • If staff are already interrupting the person who runs the office, start with managed IT support.
  • If the worry is accounts, fraudulent mail, or something that is happening now, start with cyber security. If it is happening now, call and say so.
  • If the building is the problem — coverage, guests, a room the wireless never reached — start with networks and Wi-Fi.
  • If you are not sure you could restore last Tuesday, start with backup and data recovery.
  • If mail and files are the daily system, start with Microsoft 365.
  • If the equipment itself is failing, or you are buying for new staff, start with hardware.
  • If you have keys to a new door, start with office moves.

What we usually need before we begin

  • A person who can authorise access.
  • The systems that matter if they stop: mail, a line-of-business application, the phones, the till.
  • Any supplier we should not cut across.
  • What must not be disrupted, and when.

Ongoing support and a one-off project are different shapes of work. A helpdesk arrangement stays intelligible if a move, a new network or a migration is scoped on its own. We will say which is which before anything is signed.

What stays yours

Domains, Microsoft tenants and administrator positions stay with the organisation. We do not structure an engagement so that leaving is difficult. Access we hold is documented. Passwords are kept only in the way the agreement describes.
