Ownership

The tenancy is the organisation’s. We administer what you ask us to administer. The registrar, the tenant and the people who hold administrator roles are written down and left with you. We do not take a tenant out of your control, and we do not require a continuing contract as the price of your own mail.

If a third party currently holds the tenant, we will say what a transfer requires before we promise a date. Some of that work sits with the current administrator. We will not pretend otherwise.

Housekeeping

• Mail flow, including the DNS records that let other systems trust it.
• Shared mailboxes and groups that match how the office actually works.
• A file structure people can find, rather than a default pile of folders.
• Multi-factor authentication, with a recovery path you have agreed.
• A periodic look at who still holds an administrator role.

When someone leaves

Retention is your instruction. We are not your solicitor and we will not invent a period.

• Sign-in blocked.
• Device returned or wiped, as you instruct.
• Mailbox access given only to the person you name, or converted to a shared mailbox.
• Forwarding, if any, with an end date.
• Files reassigned so they are not stranded on a departed account.
• Administrator role removed if they had one.
• The change noted.

Licensing

Microsoft sets the licence terms and the price. We do not publish a rate card, and we do not mark a figure up in public. We will tell you which licence type we think fits a person’s work, and why. You decide.

Who owns the Microsoft tenant?

You do. We administer what you ask us to administer. Access is documented, and you do not have to remain a client in order to keep your mail and files.

Can you move us off an arrangement we are unhappy with?

If the tenant is already yours, administration can be transferred by agreement. If someone else currently holds it, we will say what is required before promising a date. We will not take a tenant out of your control.
